Spray it with some CRC BrakLeen, let it soak a little and clean, rinse repeat.

Fresh kerosene will break down the gumminess as well.

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't most any gun scrubber spray work or is it too much to ask of it?

Brake cleaner is working just taking some time, should have new breach plug Thursday to see if firing pin is in good working order

I know this sounds bad but lighter fluid works… it may not be the best idea but it works.

Give the brake cleaner time, it will do it. I had some side cutting pliers once that were getting very hard to open and close and sprayed them with the brake cleaner and worked them a few times, now they work like they did new, amazing stuff.

Be very careful breathing brake cleaner, I would not use it in the house or around any family or pets.

Take the forearm off, remove the hinge pin, and see if that helps. If you haven’t done that already.
