    What’s the difference……

So I have a 25p Fury on my boat but am told I should be running a tempest same pitch. So what’s the difference between these two props. I know they have some differences but would it make that much of a difference going to a different model with the same pitch?

Tempest has more diameter and more blade area.

Fury runs about 1 pitch stiffer than a Tempest Plus. The Fury needs to run a little deeper than the Tempest.

Tempest is usually more consistent top end with load, more bow lift.

Just curious, why does a smaller diameter prop need to run deeper ?

It's not that all smaller diameter props need to run deeper it's that some props were designed to be surfacing and some are not. The fury's were not designed to be surfaced and that why you hear so much about them slinging blades. Guys running them too high. The tempest was designed to be surfaced.
