    New XRS Performance Update

Just got the new XRS on the water today and was able to get the first hour of break-in done... Half tank of gas, myself and my son in the boat, no tackle or rods, life vests, throw cushion, other small stuff, the hole shot was awesome!! Instant break over no slip or blow out, Bob's all the way down and trim all the way down. It was 180 degrees different than 2014 XRS with the 250 Pro XS... My set up is a 300R, 1:75, 31 Bravo FS with the holes plugged. More info to come in the following weeks.

Curious of your numbers with the 31 bravo. I am in the limiter with my 32 bravo at 92.5. My 30 bravo is my fishing prop and does a great job, good holeshot and 85 full load. Curious of your holeshot when loaded to fish and wells filled with the 31.

Same here, 30 Bravo full load 2 people maxes out at 85. Bought a 5 blade cleaver 30 pitch but haven't had a chance to run it yet at top end. I can tell it is stiffer than the Bravo based on hole shot.

I saw something a few weeks ago about Motec coming out with a standalone ecu to allow for tuning on the new fourstrokes. Not sure on when/if it will hit the public market though. If it happens, it should let everyone bypass the headache mercury's caused about it in the past.

    https://www.riverdavesplace.com/foru...boards.258907/

Quick search found this, their ecu’s for the inboards looks to be around $7k. Bet many won’t do it on our boats with that kinda cost and the fact it doesn’t come with a tune in it from them, looks to just be able to make it tuneable and has to be done thru their dealer network.

They'll miss the market if they come in at that price. I'd expect them to come in at $3500-5000. As far as tuning goes, it shouldn't need to be anyone in their network. It just needs to be someone who knows how to utilize a Motec ECU. Could potentially see a lot of blown powerheads if the wrong tuners get popular.

Haven't had a chance to get on the water due to several upgrades to the boat. Tilt steering and replacement dash and switch panels. Had to send my panels for correct gauge hole location. Got the panels yesterday and now the temps are in the teens for several days.

Weather and work slowed the break in process, in another week or too I will be able to run the boat harder.
