Dec. 8th.....Feast of the Immaculate Conception

The Roman Catholic Church, as well as other denominations, celebrate Dec.8th as the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

If this event did not take place, history would of been a lot different.
Sacred Heart of Mary, pray for us now, and at the hour of our death. AMEN
O blood and water which gush forth from the heart of Jesus, have mercy on us
For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and the whole world

    Hey drifter,

If this event did not take place, history would of been a lot different.

Are you referring to the feast or the actual birth of Mary? Mary has a highly reserved place in my heart and prayers just as Joseph does, yet, neither one of them could possibly have any claim of deity, though Mary carried our Savior within herself to full gestation and gave Him actual birth, while Joseph cared and nourished during His childhood.

Neither Joesph or Mary are in any way put in the same place as God. Both were HUMAN, created by the Deity, God himself. Each had a specific role in the life of Jesus. Totally agree with what you wrote....

The Immaculate Conception is just that....St. Anne, The Blessed Virgin Mary's mother conceived Mary. Thus we have the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception.
Sacred Heart of Mary, pray for us now, and at the hour of our death. AMEN

For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and the whole world

    John,
I completely understand and respect what your religious tradition compels you to celebrate.

Some people are under the impression is has something to do with the birth of Christ. Couldn't be further from the truth....appreciate you understanding the concept.
