Brown and blue wires were used in the past to net work the units to share way points. Not sure why they are still around. You can buy the Garmin net work cable on line. I used Amazon.
You can also make your own cable. you just need some shielded ethernet cable and a Garmin wiring diagram. You can buy the Garmin ethernet plugs for $14.99 and they come with he diagram.

This is the network cable you need (link below). As for the blue/brown, you wont use them, just tape the ends off.

Aren’t the brown and blue wires still used if interacting with a radio to give coordinates in an emergency?

I remember using the Brown and Blue back when fish finders and GPS were separate units so when you marked a waypoint it would save the depth with the waypoint

I’m curious if you can use these between Echomap and GPSmap units to share waypoints?

    No.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

It stills befuddles me why they won’t offer this between the two series

Clearly the units can speak the same code if they both can talk to a GLS10 and Livescope via the network

I’d like to know the thinking behind this (Profit?)
