Yeah, govt. doesn't really care about past spending. Going to hydrogen fuel would give them another avenue to spend even more.

They have a long way to go with hydrogen still. If I was was a betting man it won’t replace battery powered at least for a while. California has had hydrogen for a few years. Ev is still more popular.

Yes it is explosive, but so is gas, propane and natural gas; which power vehicles with the proper precautions.

That’s the guy he had a lot of time to go fishing and test out the prototypes because he didn’t have to stop for gas very often. Think he also invented Depends.

Hydrogen has to be highly pressurized and super cooled. It’s not a simple
    process

Toyota has fits with the refueling infrastructure. The countries pushing the “green agenda” have invested WAY too much money to let EVs go by the wayside. Just research how much money our government alone has dropped on EVs.

You know who likes hydrogen? The fossil fuel industry. It takes alot of energy to make hydrogen useful for vehicles.

But hydrogen seams to be a step backwards. Can I refuel a hydrogen car at home? How expensive is it? Whats the cost per mile driven for hydrogen?

Burning hydrogen has its own set of limitations. This guy has a lot of great videos. Apologies to those that take pride in mathematical illiteracy as he does use basic math extensively.

Also, most assume that getting hydrogen is as simple as boiling water but most industrial hydrogen comes from natural gas. Fuel cells are interesting though.

Without an evolutionary leap in electrical energy storage, which we have not really seen seen since the invention of the battery, its going to be hard to practically replace burning gasoline or diesel fuel in many instances for passenger vehicles.

Now, the same guy as above did a neat bit on the new Tesla semi that makes it seem pretty viable. If you can find a charger for it of course. Sorry, more math.

You are correct…BUT, when Uncle Sam makes building gas power illegal eventually we all need a new ride, walk, ride a bicycle, or die.

America elected someone who declared war on oil & gas.

You are now seeing states ban natural gas from being installed in new builds.

Atlas Shrugged comes to mind. Eventually the majority will get what they want. Unfortunately they likely forgot how Rome and many other cultures who were around a lot longer than America are now history.

Gasoline is considered more explosive than hydrogen.

I saw the other day that Switzerland is considering a law that ev's can't be driven when there are power grid supply issues.

Follow the money trail. It all leads to federal income tax. The more types of energy the more lines of revenue it opens. The feds are borderline complicit in letting industries spawn and grow and placing a chokehold on the cash flow once its reached the point of necessity.

Science... It takes a much lower concentration of gasoline in the air to be explosive...
