Not really a new technique but a spinnerbait made its way back into an almost every trip setup.

I got more comfortable with a hair jig this year and had great results with it.

Not really new but continued my squarebill journey. Getting good results & learning more and more of the subtleties about them - basically getting into the fine tuning aspect of what to use and when. One of my takeaways has been to not be as concerned with color selection and to concentrate more on size & action to match the forage better.

I caught more fish on a weightless fluke than ever before. Seemed like every trip I caught at least one on it. Also had a lot of success using a craw on a shakeyhead this year. Definitely gained a lot of confidence using both.

I bought two jerk baits which were on sale for $4.00 each. I caught over 75 largemouth and stripers with them. They've replaced my soft plastics as my go-to baits.

Just added the Deeks dead spin and the Zman tail spin to the back of a Trd. This totally woke up the bass living in 25 ft of water that is only 45 degrees right now. I constantly try new baits throught the year.

I went into 2022 with the intent of upping my marabou hair jig game by 1) getting a specific setup to throw them and 2) spending more time throwing them. It was money and time well spent.

The newest is the terd bait by mayo's baits which is basically a Fat ika. First cast first fish. Also tried a ned rig, not impressed.

Trying to use old technics and baits that I used to use years ago, I've got all this tackle, might as well use it.

Really the only new bait I tried was a Netbait dagger, Geecrack bellows gill and MB vision 110 (just couldn’t justify spending $25 on a bait but a TW gift card helped).

The bellows gill really surprised me how well they worked even though they are like 2x the size that I normally use. The dagger produced really well too. Also used a megabass vision 110 for the first time and caught a fair amount, less than expected but enough to earn a permanent spot.

i did throw a crank bait a fair amount this spring with a lot of success, which is the first time I threw one in about 3 years.

Bellows gill on Tokyo rig was a good addition during the spawn. Damiki rig on deep suspended fish has been fun. Also have developed a love-hate relationship with glide baits.

Spent some time playing with the cover scat. More for shits and giggles, but found it does have a place and works pretty well.

Not new but I went back to using a slider spider head with a 4 inch slider worm. Don't know why I stopped using it but it still works great. Thank you Charlie Brewer
