Correct. And it's apparently when you eat fried food.
The steam gets all over your fingers, napkins, etc.

IMO, they are OK but not as good and deep fried. Better for you maybe I guess. They are good for reheating wings though.

Air fryer makes great tater tots but I think everything else is better fixed some other way.

Some of the best wings you will have

Still haven’t figured out burgers yet
we must be doing our wings wrong Cause they suck in the air fryer. They don’t get anywhere near as crispy as a deep fried wing. I’ve tried coating them in cooking spray, cooking them at 400deg for twice as long as they needed and they just don’t get crispy at all. I now just throw them on the grill if I’m doing homemade wings.

we mostly use ours for frozen stuff like fries, chicken nuggets, tenders, mozzarella sticks etc. we also use it to make chicken Milanese and it does a great job.

Baking works too. We enjoyed hot biscuits when we didn't have power for three days after the last hurricane.
Just plugged it into my little generator. Same with the espresso machine. One appliance at a time, we enjoyed.
They are purposeful. And, as noted, they use a fraction of the electricity of an oven. And zero kitchen heat.

Ours makes great wings, however, we have to do 2 batches, 10-12 at a time. Pile them all in at once and they don't crisp up as good. So....in about half the time it takes to do 2 batches, I can fire up the Weber gas grill, cook em all at the same time and get em as crisp as I want. About the only thing we use ours for is frozen fries. Even at that it seems not too healthy. The fries have to be tossed lightly in oil or sprayed with vegatable oil spray to taste right. Without, they are very bland. So I'm thinking whats the point...air fryer with oil on them, or fried in oil....still eating oil.

Olive oil is healthier than regular vegetable oil, and it takes just a little to work.

I love mine. They do have a learning curve though. I think sometimes people get one and think they can just throw whatever in and expect a deep fried food. Thats not the case as you gotta learn the tricks. I still put it in my top three kitchen gadgets. (Instapot, vac sealer, and air fryer)

It sure does and quicker than the big oven too. I love mine. I’ve done pork chop in it several times and turned out good. Wings like mentioned repeatedly already, chicken tenders and breast. Also cooked frozen salmon filets that tasted as good as on the grill. This is the one I have

Forgot to add, the best part is you can take it outside or to the garage to use and not have the cooking smell in the house

What kind of clean up? I microwave my bacon with next to zero mess and it comes out pretty good in a four minute pinch.

The biggest benefit to using ours is it takes much less time preheating because it is smaller than a conventional oven. My son like French fries, chicken nuggets etc. and he can cook those in the air fryer much quicker than waiting to preheat the oven.

Microwave bacon, while good, isn't in the same class as convection oven bacon. The latter is worth a bit more cleanup.

My daughter in laws oven quit awhile back while she was cooking some crappie i brought home & she ended up fixing it in the air fryer. The taste was great but the texture was to soft for me compared to frying on stove top or deep frying either one.
