The head is a degree or two off from the motor, pointing more to the left. Is there anyway to adjust the alignment of the head and motor?

By head I am sure you are talking about the top attached to the shaft.
Unless the head is cracked then see if the screw that attaches the head to the shaft is loose. Line it up with the foot and just tighten it.
Yes the head on the top is pointing a couple of degrees to the left of the motor. I removed the head and inspected it and didn’t see any cracks, the bolt hole doesn’t look enlarged. The back of the head fits tightly into the shaft groove. Is it possible that hat the motor has twisted on the shaft a bit? Is the shaft threaded into the motor?

It will not be exact. 1-2 degrees is nominal. The shaft can not remain twisted because it is composite. The shaft is not threaded and molded into the motor housing by the factory. I would say live with what you have, because you can't fix it without messing something up.
