Garmin 106SV Recessed in Dash

Looking to upgrade the electronics at the console of my 2012 Z521 and would like to recess a Garmin Echomap 106sv into the dash.it looks close but not sure if it will fit or not. Has anyone tried or done that? Would like to not have to space out my steering wheel if I don’t need too. Any pics of this set up would be appreciated.

I always flush mounted but it limits what you can do in future when changing out units or upgrading - I would get a bass boat technologies mount and be done with it - makes it easy to change out unit if you ever want to go bigger.
