    AT1 vs AT2 Module

For those of us with the AT1 module already installed, will it only be a software update to run the upgraded AT2 transducer or can it only be run on an AT2 module? Asking simply for the standard views, not the dual transducer setups.

Good question, I really don't want to upgrade modules and rather upgrade my transducer. I also noticed that if I wanted to run the new HD Live transducer, I'll have to purchase their new 3100 module which starts at $950 (estimate).

I had read on several threads that we will be able to run the AT2 transducer ($1,099) on our AT1 module, just won't be able to do the dual transducer view. Hopefully they will put out a video or screenshots showing the AT1 module and AT2 transducer in use.

Exactly. Now that it’s past the official launch I’m hoping someone can clarify the AT1 module with AT2 transducer compatibility/performance. The assumption is this upgrade is the same as the Garmin GLS10 module swapping between the LVS32 vs LVS34 transducers only but that should be clarified before people start ordering new AT systems, modules, or transducers.

AT 2 transducer to a AT1 module will work just fine the only thing is there is about a 10% degrade in Image quality from the total AT2 package. Personally I would never do it. Sell your AT 1 and then get the whole package. Good Luck

I agree on selling the AT 1 and buying the complete AT 2 package.

You need the AT2 with the new module to run it.

New 3 in 1 requires 3100 module to work with any of them also

Appears that the new active image HD will plug directly into the HDSpro unit and work. If you do not own a hdspro unit you need the s3100 module. This is the way I’m understanding it.

Sounds like you only need the new module to get the fish reveal feature (with HDS Pro - the new HD transducers without fish reveal plug in the units directly.) Not sure if any older units can use the HD transducers at all.

Yes I believe for side scan fish reveal you do need the module no matter what. But if you want the down scan and side scan chirp with no side scan fish reveal you can plug directly into the hdspro. I really don’t think side scan fish reveal is going to be very good just like the down scan fish reveal. If you want any active image HD on hds live or hds carbon you need to have the s3100 and the hd transducer.

this is the way I’m interpreting the website info on all the new items.

Garbage that live owners have to buy an expensive module to utilize the new transducer!

So the AT1 module with new AT2 transducer either works no problem, doesn’t work at all, or works at a degraded performance?

Your post was one of the three conflicting options. What’s different in the modules that it’s degraded? Is the AT2 module faster processing?

Yes, I'm also very disappointed at that.
2 Reasons not to do it: a) the price, b) having to install another module (already got the AT1).
So I think I won't be upgrading anything in a while.
