Another Alison Krauss fan here. Whitney was great. And so was Olivia Newton John, been a fan of hers since the beginning.
As far as male vocalists go, I think Steve Perry was one of the best.
Just to throw a different twist into the mix, do a You Tube search for the acapella group HOME FREE. Incredible voices, and the bass/baritone has an upper range into the tenor group. all have amazing voices.
