New BBT brackets for HDS LIve

Had a lot of vibration with the standard gimbal bracket for my HDS Live 12" so I purchased the warrior bracket from BBT. What a difference!! Only downside is this one is silver and all my other brackets are black. This appears to have a powder coat finish. Can I paint over that or will I need to sand and/or prime it first?

    Thanks
    Chris

Replace your other brackets with bbt and then they are all silver and problem solved.

Is the vibration of the factory brackets a problem? My bow 12 wobbles big time. Is this actually a problem or could the aftermarket rigid brackets cause too much shock to be transmitted to the graph?

i wouldn’t think so, people flush mount units every day and that’s about rigid as it gets.

I went through one live and a couple of the Carbon brackets. The HDS 12 brackets are horrible and wobble and vibrate like crazy. The HDS 16 isn't bad though. Finally got sick of dealing with it and just replaced all the gimbals on all my units to BBT gimbals. They're awesome. All 3 live 12's and my one Garmin Ultra 126 are rock solid.

Every graph I’ve owned that has broke is on a stock factory bracket and they were all gen2 and gen3 units. Since going to bbt brackets with carbons and lives with about 0 flex in rough water I haven’t had a graph fail. Could be because the units are built better or could just be a lucky coincidence.
