No, not directly. Smartcraft is the Mercury Data language while the Carbons speak NMEA 2000. So you need a translator and a NMEA network. Mercury Level 2 Mercmonitor have a built in translator and connect into a NMEA network. Mercury VesselView is a stand alone translator. Either option is cheap. There is tons of good info about this on BBC if you will perform a search.

A few clarifications in this post. A Mercmonitor Level 1 or higher has a NMEA capability. They used to make a Level ZERO and it did not have NMEA. There are 3 versions of Vessel View. A standalone box called simply Vessel View that comes in various sizes, Vessel View Mobile that connects to your phone via BT or Vessel View Link which is NMEA only and uses your Lowrance units (HDS Gen 2 or newer) to display information. Some Elite units can display information as well.

To answer the OPs question, yes with either a Mercmonitor Level 1 or higher OR a Vessel View LINK module.

Yes, it can, in a few different ways.

You can buy something from Mercury called "Vessel View Link" which will basically turn your Carbon display into a full fledged VesselView display, and give you access to all of that SmartCraft functionality. This little box costs about $700-$800
    See Here: https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/...sselview-link/
    And here for a video:

You can connect the Nema 0183 bus out of your Carbon to the NEMA0183 input on a SmartCraft SC-1000 Speedometer, and configure your Carbon to output the correct BaudRate, NEMA sentences; and confugre the SC-1000 speedometer to use uses GPS speed to display speed, Distance to Waypoint, etc to enable Fuel Economy readings, fuel to waypoint, etc.
    See Here: https://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=60875

If you have a MercMonitor, you can use it's NEMA2000 gateway. That is probably covered elsewhere.

So, to help you more, we probably need more info:
What SmartCraft devices do you have in your boat already, if any?
Do you have a functioning SmartCraft network already on board?
What are you trying to accomplish.

Best place to get more advice is over in the Merc forums; and can buy the VesselView link from Don at European marine for a discount for being a BBC member.
