    NRX+ Spinning Rods (852 vs 822SYR)

Regarding the new NRX+ Spinning rods, I’ve heard the 852 is the greatest Shaky Head and jig worm rod of all time. So that begs the question, how does the 852 compare to the 822SYR, other than 3” length difference? What are the differences in Action and Power, both are rated a 2 Power by Loomis?

The 852 has more power and is faster than the 822 SYR. Both handle a 1/8-3/16oz., 5"-type shakey head well. My opinion on determining which rod may fit you best is, what other techniques are you likely to use the rod for ?? If you are using lighter shakey heads and then maybe a ned rig, drop shot, or "creek rod," I like the 822. If you are potentially going to a bigger shakey head, tubes, small senkos, swimming grubs/Keitech 2,8"s, I like the 852. Most people I have talked to tend to gravitate toward the power of the 852...

If it is dedicated to shakey head only do the 822 syr if it's going to be a multi presentation stick go with the 852. imho.
