Anyone running 50ah on 36V Trolling Motor?

Just wondering if anybody is running 3 -12V 50ah batteries on their boat? If so, how are they after fishing for 8 or 10 hours on a lake at the end of the day? (Assuming no Power Pole charger or On-Board charging happening) I know there can be a lot of variables but trying to figure out where they would be at the end of the day? Leaning towards going with 100AH just to make sure i have enough juice but hate to spend the money if it is not needed. Currently running Dekka 27's and have less than 50% at the end of day of fishing.

Thanks for any real any info.

I put 3 Ionic 50ah batteries in my 21 foot Skeeter with a 36v Ultrex this spring
No on the fly charger and they are dedicated to the trolling motor only

I fish St Clair that has some current on the lake and a fair amount of current on the river I can fish an 8 hour tournament and still have 60% left at the end of the day
When practicing there are times I can get 3 days on the water before I need to charge them

If you get a good set of batteries I can't see how you would be able to drain them in a single day

I’m hardcore. 12-16 hour days on the water. I’d say most of those days I only burn 50ah of power which isn’t bad for such a long day. But I’ll tell you what. When conditions aren’t on your side I’m sure glad I have 100ah. I honestly want 125ah because I’ve killed my 100ah probably 5-6 times and drained them down to 10-20% countless times over the past few years. It’s so easy when the wind is blowing all day and you want to try and fish into the wind to drain them fast. Sometimes I spot lock in like a 15-20mph wind and my ionic app will show only 6-7 hours of juice if I hold spot lock like that on a full charge and that’s which a Lowrance ghost which is supposed to be a very efficient trolling motor. Those group 27s are probably similar to like 60-70ah lithiums so if you are running those down 50% usually then you are averaging 35ah of use which doesn’t give you much extra room when you run 50ah batteries.

I have had 50s from Relion and they worked just fine on long days both tournaments and fun fishing. I sold that boat. I now have 60ah Impulse. I do NOT run them down either. If you are running 27s, you will be fine with either.

I run three 50ah Ionic Lithium with Ultrex. Fish all day, including tournaments, and never have a problem.

Have 3 50a Ionics for my Ultrex on a Phoenix 920. On an 8 hour day tournament fishing they’re usually in the 60% range. Lowest I’ve ever gotten them was around 35% and that day was 20+ mph winds and I fished open water the whole day.

2 seasons on my 3-12/50ah and the only time you need to think about conservation of power is fishing in 25mph winds or heavy currents.

power drifting with blades down is my solution and still end days with 50-% charge in my ionic

Yep, I am and love it. I have a ONE 36v 50ah Monster Marine for my Ultrex 112#. A couple of 6-8 hour days is no problem without recharging. My trim/tilt broke down and I had to use my TM to get back to the ramp. Set it on 10 constant and made it all the way to the no wake buoys at the ramp, 8 miles!

I have a single 36v/40A NextGen on a 2022 BassCat Cougar running a Garmin Force. I can easily fish 2 full days and still be above 50% charge.

Got my three 50 ah from Drewcraft.com who is a board sponsor. They have done a great job with my CX !
    I also have a 125 ah to run three 12 HDS Live and a 106 Garmin L S.

While I’m not quite as hardcore as you (also fish less wind and current than you I’m guessing) I’ve also had a few days where I’ve gone below ten percent with my 100ah ionic batteries. Haven’t killed them yet though, but definitely would’ve had some days cut short if I had 50ah. The other upside is when the batteries degrade over the years (they all do), I will still have pretty decent battery capacity.

I have the Ionic bundle. 12/125ah plus 1 36/50ah and the 2 bank charger. I'm running 3 Lowrance hds 12's with active target. Never had an issue with fishing all day. The batteries Bluetooth to my phone so I can monitor them. With a full day of fishing I've never gone below 70% on either battery.

Good to hear, I also went with the 125 and 3x50, running 4 Live 12's, AT, 3DSS, PP's and a Ghost TM. Just got everything installed essentially so haven't even taxed them yet - but I did get a few hours on the water this weekend and didn't even put a dent it them.

How did you fit 1 x 36 volt 50aH ionic in your boat? I am running a Skeeter ZX 225 and i am about 1/4 inch too short from being able to fit that battery in there. I was running 3 x 12V 50aH but recently switched to a Monster Marine 36V 73aH TM battery as it is the same size as a group 31 and about an inch or so taller. Trying to figure out how to get the Ionic 36V in there.
