    Cabela's Question

Anyone been to their local or any Cabela's lately. Ours has put ALL ammo into lock down using show cabinets that are locked and have different keys for each (at least 8-10) cabinets. With 4, 5, 6 guys wanting ammo and only one store rep struggling to find the right key to unlock the ammo cabinet you could be their hour before it's your turn. I finally had to walked out of that cluster mess.

Im sure its not what they want to do. Probably just a show of the times we are in. Theft = more precautions.

So what’s next, lock up all the hunting socks, boots, hats, gloves. And what about all the hard baits ?

I dont know. Its my guess that a company of that size has the bean counters saying hey we need to do something. Not saying its something I like but if I look at an inventory # and it shows way more going out than has been paid for I would do something too. My guess its the ammo getting hit hard.

Just my guess I definitely dont work there and have no first hand knowledge.

Been in the following BPS/Cabelas stores in the last year:

    San Antonio, TX
    Buda, TX
    Katy, Tx
    Harlingen, TX
    Pearland, TX
    Rogers, AR

None of them had the ammo locked up. Maybe you up north guys are just less trustworthy…

I was in that same store yesterday with the grandkids. Ammo and reloading supplies are just out on the shelves, like normal. No armed guards, no locked ammo cases.

I'm guessing it's Cabela's a decision of running scared because of our Governor and now needing background checks to purchase ammo.

You have to get a background check ever time you buy ammo ?
