Interesting...So they are just bypassing the over current protection device. Begs the questions...If it isn't needed, why is it there? Was the design engineer consulted for this fix?

Updated mine today. The process was pretty straight forward. . No problem powering it up afterwards. I did contact Lowrance for clarification. To me, weren't clear @ 1:54. (Which color wire were they referring to?) Had to wait 38 minutes for my turn in the que.

Did the foot pedal recall wire relocation which was quite simple. However, while I had the back plate off, I looked things over and noticed the ground wire coming out of the main wire coupling that I saw exposed wiring. This does not seem normal and apparently missed QC before it was assembled. Does anyone know what this wire relates too? It is not something I think I can access via the main wiring harness. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Brian

That is a shielded cable. They ground the shielding to prevent "noise" or interference since the transducer and steering servo cables are ran with the motor power cables. In other words, it is normal for the braided shielding to be exposed like that.

My boat is a 2022 and does not even have the shielded wire mentioned in above post. What is that wire used for?
