A Guntersville guide turned me onto a Shimano SLX 7’2” medium in the early season
and a SLX 7’2” medium heavy once the pad stems and grass get longer. These are the graphite versions.
a lot of places have these rods marked down to buy one get one free right now.(Am Legacy and LBF)

Powell 7' and 7'2 MH endurance crank rods are nothing like the ever popular glass chatterbait rods that i absolutely cannot stand, but fish a chatterbait amazingly well.

Maybe see if you can get your hands on the St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass Rip-N-Chatter. Been extremely happy with mine. It's the iAct model, a carbon fiber hybrid. I always hated glass rods, but this rod has really impressed me. Can easily rip the grass free and has great sensitivity, but has a similar action to a glass rod.

I just bought one of these for cranking bigger squarbles and chatterbaits. Got some "tip" to it with the 7-2 length but think it'll work well for shallow water cranking type applications.

Another good one besides the NRX 853C is Cashion rods chatter bait rod.

I had a chance to fish with this rod for a day. Very good chatter bait rod for the price. Good quality and a crisp soft tip with tons of back bone.

I'm a St Croix guy and any of their 7' MHMF spinner bait rods work great for bladed jigs. The key is the moderate fast action to keep the fish pinned.

Dobyns Champion 734. It is money with a chatterbait. This rod has a more moderate action in the blank then a true Medium Heavy.
