Trailer hitch drop for 2022 GMC 1500 Denali and 2020 Ranger 520

Just got a new GMC 1500 and wondered what hitch drop everyone recommends towing a 2020 Ranger 520. Previous vehicle was a 2019 Tahoe and it took a 4.5” drop.

    Thanks for your feedback!

On the main page of the link I'm going to post there is a video that makes it easy to figure it out on you own...

Really!! I have a 2019 Denali and I had to raise (invert) The receiver to 2" to be able to ride level. 20 22" from ball to ground with trailer on
Note; all stock from factory. no lift kit

Go with a BW hitch never worry about getting it perfect with whatever trailer you are pulling went with a 5” adjustable several years ago best thing I ever did.

4-6” drop should put you close enough to try. Park on a level surface and examine the level of the trailer. There are a few variables that make it near impossible to guess and along with tongue weight after your gear is on the boat.! Always look it over on a level surface and you’ll know.

I use a 4" drop on my 22 High Country 1500 with 20" wheels for my 520C. Works great

Level the trailer and measure, load trailer to ball and measure again.
That sould give you the drop or rise dimension you are looking for.

Agree, you just need to measure.
All depends on tire size and profile and vehicle profile.
    I have a 2021 Sierra 1500 Denali with 22” low profile tires that requires a 2” drop.
On a 2022 Sierra SLT Ltd( just a glorified 2021) with the Z31 package and 20” high profile tires, to get the same set up requires a 4’ drop.
These exact numbers wouldn’t apply specifically to you since my trailer is standard axle and 14” tires.

    I pull a 521C with 14” rims on the trailer, with a 2020 Yukon 4x4 with 20" rims.
I need an 8" drop to make the boat ride level. I think my ground to top of the ball is 18"

Had to raise the ball to get right tongue height on a 2021 520L. I believe it is a 3" drop hitch flipped over that got it to the right height on my 2009 silverado.

I have a 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation 1500 basically stock other than a front-end leveling kit installed... but i had to buy a straight hitch ball for trailering my '17 520C.. i have 2 or 3 other drop hitches but the boat rode too low in the front for my liking

Had to get the 9" adjustable and it works great. This thing is heavy though.................
