    97 tr21 hp rating change?

Has anyone had luck with Triton upping the hp rate from 245 to 250 on the 97 98 tr21s?

They turned me down when I asked about changing from 225 to 250 on my last boat, a 2007 TR20X.

The boats over 20’. It’s a manufacturers rating not a USCG rating. Put what you want on it.

No legal HP limit on a boat 20' or longer.

Here's the issue with putting a 250 on a boat with the Manufacturer sticker says 245. Lots of tournament have a rule of not having a motor over the hp on Manufacturer sticker.
Was curious if anyone had any luck at changing it. I tried 3 years ago with no luck just hoping someone had luck.

I am sorry I don’t have an answer for you. I just really want to comment on how stupid I think that is. I get rules are rules, but 5 hp difference on a 25 year old boat. Let it go. As stated it’s not even a USCG thing. Cap the hp at 250 in the rules and have a good time.
