    Just one nrx+

If you was going to get just one nrx+ for 1/2oz jig and worm fishing. Which one would it be and why?
I am leaning towards one of these models.
    NRX+ 873C CRR
    NRX+ 854C JWR
    NRX+ 844C MBR.
I not really crazy about long rods. Would prefer something in the 7' range.
    Thanks!

For me, my favorite NRX model is the 873c. Incredible action, lightweight, and can handle even up to 3/4 oz jigs if you're feeling up to it. Loomis rods tend to account for the weight of the lead + hook, not counting the plastic being used. So even the 4 power rods can do A LOT more than you'd think.

If I wanted 7'0" length for 1/2 and under, I'd grab an 843c MBR model, since I prefer the slower actions in general for bottom contact, and it can throw single hook moving baits in a pinch.

I’ve haven’t used the NRX+ but I understand they run slightly stiffer than the previous ones. For me my my jig rod is the 894 and I throw t-rigs on the 873.

I agree with JCHHatesBlank. The 873CRR would be the one rod I would get for jig and worm fishing. You can fish everything from from micro football jigs to heavier jigs. I have all the rods your mention as ones your are considering and you can't go wrong with any of them, but the 873CRR is a special rod. It really loads up well on 1/2 jigs and casts them a mile. It has plenty of hook setting power. It is extremely versatile.

    I have 3 854's and 2 873's so I'd say its a toss up between them.

873 CRR, definitely. It’s my favorite rod in the NRX lineup.

I had the 854 JWR and didn’t really like it. I much prefer the 894 JWR instead.

Shallow or deep water? I throw 1/2 jigs on a NRX894. The length doesnt bother me in the least, and I am not tall at all. The 894 just moves a bunch more line than the 873 for me. I love the 873 for carolina rigs and wobble heads. Stuff that has more straight line retrieves. Just my opinion, both would work great. The 854 dont get much love, but I like it quite a bit for heavier T-Rigs pitched to shallow cover.

The NRX+ 873C CRR seems like a popular rod. I mainly will be fishing in 0 to 25 fow. Around wood, rock and pitching around docks. Thanks for the input.

I've got an 854, 894, and 873+. My vote is for the 873.

I have 2 873’s if that tells you anything. Best rod on the planet. Screw a Metanium on it and it’s Nirvana!

I have the 853 (NRX & GLX), 873, 894, and GLX 844 MBR. As mentioned the 873 is probably the most versatile. My wife and I use the 853 for 5/16oz jigs, the 873 gets the 1/2oz, and 894 gets 3/4 unless throwing 1/2 in deeper water. My 844 MBR is my moving bait rod other than crankbaits (Jackhammer, jig head swimbaits, etc.).

I’m a 844 guy, I can do a lot with that rod. I however think 3/4oz pushes the limit I have a conquest and a GLX 844 and prefer the conquest over the glx. I absolutely love my nrx rods but they do feel a little too brittle with heavy weight. Awesome sticks either way

Might just get the 894. I can find it with a nice discount. Not so much on the 873.

Another vote for 873c. Incredibly versatile bottom contact rod.
