    Lakemaster card not reading

I recently picked up a Helix 12 Chirp SI GPS. I purchased the Lake Master Plus chip. My control head has SW 1.900.
How do I tell if the unit is reading the chip?? I am operating in the garage so no GPS lock. When I go to the chart TAB all I see is Base map.
Also how to I select right or left for which slot the card is in?
I have looked at the Chip on my computer and the files appear to be there.
In Simulator mode I have couture lines and lots of colors??

You don't get slot choices for map cards unless you have two cards inserted.

Auto will read a map card when inserted whether it is Lakemaster or Navionics.

Is there an indication on the control head that tells me it sees the Lake master card?

Yes, you get Lakemaster mapping in HD for waters that are HD surveyed.

Updates would be for your unit. If your unit is a Gen1, Ver 1.900 is latest update. If not, check Humminbird website for the latest updates:

The Lakemaster data will not appear on screen until you get a satellite fix.

I have two Lakemaster Great Lakes cards, work fine.
I have two lakemaster southeast states.....

Last southeast trip i took one crapped out on me. I tried the mini card in a different card adapter, tried all slots, and tried multiple head units. No luck. I chalked it up as a failed card.
This trip I just took in November, the other one was useless. I store them in the rubber lakemaster storage.....

Pretty upsetting these cards just "go bad" on their own with no apparent reason or use, and they are stored in a nice case.

Anything I can try with these cards before I consider them useless and throw them away? 2 pretty unused lakemaster southeeast state and lakemaster plus cards version 2 and 4 i think.

Can try viewing their contents on a computer to see if you can view their contents and see if there has been any data written to them from your unit such as Nav Data. If so, remove the data and retry again. Corrupted files written to them can make them inoperable.
