    04? Xpress 19x question

Hope you guys could help. Buddy is getting a new 150 proxs four stroke to replace his 200 carb mercury. We are both old school 2 stroke guys and have no clue. Question is, what pitch prop do you think would be right? Our top speed days are over so top end is not a big concern. He liked the 4 blade on the 200. It’s an old prop with press in hub.
he’s thinking trophy. Like mentioned, we have no clue cause I think it wants to be at the 6k mark…. And I believe it’s a 2:08 gears. Thanks.

I would say a 23 trophy. 22-23tempest or fury but may not see 6k. The trophy always seemed light in pitch to me compared

Second on the 23 trophy, But I am not sure on your gear ratio. It was about perfect for my 150 yamaha. CJ

You can back solve for pitch using the Prop Slip calculator here: https://www.mercuryracing.com/propel...alculator.html If you assume a slip between 5-15%, knowing the gear ratio, proposed RPM, etc. You should be able to find a pitch that will suit the boat/motor combo... I did look up the gear ratio... It is 2.08 per Mercury site.
