Any known issues, transom, stress cracks, etc on a 20’? Thanks!

In '96 the transom install was made stronger to accommodate the heavier / higher HP motors.
So should stay away from a 90-91 model year? Thanks
Any particular reason to stay away from the 90-91?
Possible weak transom with something older than 96 with the possibility of repowering with a 4 stroke?
If it’s in good shape and been took care of I wouldn’t be scared of any of them. You can always get another brace put in if you want.

The early models did not have bracing at the console, several boats have one small gel crack at the curve where the console starts above the switch panel. More chance of core/transom rot in the early models due to holes not properly sealed, gouges, etc. The good thing is, if you get a solid one, you can pretty much update it to 2022 standards fairly easy.

From reading here on the forums it seems lots of changes were made from 96 to 99???
Is there a way to tell by looking at them which one has the updated transom or does someone know when they changed each model?
