I have never been on lake, should I stay midlake or towards dam as far as fishing is concerned. My dad moved there so going for a visit and a laid back fishing trip.

High mid 40's-mid 50's and nights will be high 20's-low 30's next week. Should be about the same for several weeks.
Water is now about 30ft below summer pool and will drop another 8-10ft by year's end.
Fishing can be good , dam and mid lake , but do not go very far up lake unless you have good mapping and up to date insurance coverage. Good population of SM between Dandridge and the dam.
