    Target lock is locked up.

    Did this once last trip.
Try to turn it with foot pedal and the screen says- something like
Unable to turn for motor damage.
I believe the steering box is locked up. Seems you should be able to turn shaft by hand. Can anyone verify this?
    Thanks.

Mine did the same thing. After insisting with customer service it would not turn electronically and sending them a video they sent me a brand new Targetlock unit after I sent in my old Targetlock with their prepaid shipping label. I do not think I was able to spin mine by hand it when it was broken.

    Thanks for the reply.
I pulled it off the boat and brought it home with me- will call HB and see what they say.

I had that message show up last time on the water, but I believe it was because I kept rotating the target lock and the cords were so tight around the shaft/target lock unit. I comprehended it as a safety mechanism, I reversed the direction and as the cables for the target lock loosened up, the notification message had disappeared.

    Thoughts?

You guys have the same issue?

Yes sir that's what the stop is designed for----tight cords or underwater obstructions, anything that could cause damage to unit.
I checked mine for any of that and it is clear.
Pretty sure something is locked up inside the steering box or you would be able to turn it by hand-- just like the Ultrex.

This message is typically displayed when a cable is bound up or an object is blocking the transducer.

Talked with Matt at Humminbird today.
After telling him what I knew and described the symptoms he is sending a new steering box. Plus a shipping label to send mine back with.

Got the new steering box. You can turn the shaft by hand.
Hopefully there won't be a rash of these but HB did say mine was not the first.
When I took the old steering box off it had water inside. Most likely from a hard rain a month or so before it locked up.
