It’s not new, but I’d like to try a jaw jacker or similar setup. My buddy has one and we have yet to have it go off. Even on a day when literally all other tip ups had flags that one stayed down.

I seen a strike master bait bucket and thought it might be a great minnow bucket

Dont have a jaw jacker but I did get an I fish pro last year. I love catching fish with a rod and reel and this made it alot of fun.
Not really looking for new stuff but if we actually can get some good ice i would like to try laker fishing more this year.

Those small red round bait buckets? I don't think there is enough volume to have an adequate amount of water for the minnows to survive.

It's too bad the Engel bait coolers have gone up in price so much because I really like those. Bought a 13qt a couple years ago for $60 and they are now like $100, but I use it basically year round.

Gary here is a link to that bucket

I think i might try one I only take a dozen with me at a time so it might be better than the old foam bucket in a bucket

yeah, that's the one I was thinking. If I recall it's about 2qt in volume, pretty small, even for a dozen minnows. If you do go that route I'd definitely get a battery powered air pump you can stick to the side to keep the water oxygenated, drill a hole through the lid to run the hose.
