    Prompton Dam question

Fished on Prompton last week, and noticed quite a few "bait balls" on sonar in deeper water over the river channel. For those familiar with this lake, what type of baitfish are these. Thanks.

Here is the Biologist report for Prompton. You can make an educated guess from there. https://www.fishandboat.com/Fish/Fis...omptonLake.pdf

`I'm guessing Golden Shiners, although I've never seen them ball up like that on other lakes I fish that have them.

Looks like Alewife but I don't think the lake supports them. I'm scratching my head on this one? What end of the lake? Up by the launch or through the narrow area and down by the dam?

Near the dam, in the river channel.
