    TR 21 and a Mercury 250

Who here runs a TR 21 with a Mercury 250? Doesn’t matter to me which 250. I just need some help with getting started with setup. I have a 250 XB coming. Yes I know it drinks oil and gas. Don’t care. I just need help with p2p and prop. Thanks for the help in advance

2007 TR21 X hp, 250 Pro XS 2stroke, Fury 26P, P2P it likes 2 1/4 for the best hole shot, top end is the same all the way up to 5/8, 78mph with nearly full fuel and 4 31 AGM batteries. I do have a 10" hydro jack plate and dual power poles.

    I've tried a Tempest 27- 74mph, Tempest 26 - 72mph, Fury was better in every way.

I have same set up. I only run a 25 Tempest. But I currently use the boat for fishing then load it down for family fun most weekends. You'll definitely enjoy the grunt of the XB.

Thanks Rlueb I got my motor put on and ran it this past week. With a 26 fury it ran 77.5 with just me 3/4 tank of fuel and my normal fishing load. And then fished a tournament with a partner full tank of fuel and 1 livewell full it ran 73.5 with a worked 25 tempest. This was all at the 3-1/2 inch below pad mark. Going to go again this week and run it higher and see what happens. And yes I do love the XB

Sounds like you are pretty close, few more tests to confirm you can't make it run better, or find a a little bit left in it. The prop game gets pricey fast chasing the right combo.

Yea I could see where it could get expensive. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a 26-27 fury or the same in a tempest. Just got to play with motor heights. If I can get 75 loaded I’ll be happy and I’m sure that’s not going to be a problem.

The Fury is about 1 pitch stiffer than the Tempest Plus.

You should also also be able to run the Tempest PTP about 1" higher than the Fury.
