    Mid 90,s 200 efi

    My fishing buddy has a ticking sound coming from his engine, mid 90,s 200 efi, any ideas please

    Where is it coming from? Lower, mid or powerhead. Does it change with rpms? Could be the exhaust tuner is loose in the midsection.

    If it seems to be inside the powerhead and changes with RPM's, it could be a rod bearing cage has failed (many of them had nylon rod bearing cages... they did ok as long as they never crossed 5800 RPM's).
