    Powder Paint & jigs

    Is a base color needed for junebug jig. First time today using this color and it didn't cover deep enough, dipped twice & still not good. any help

    Some colors just look better over a white base. I'd try it and see.

    I would say you need a base. Protec junebug has a lot of clear in it so to make a bolder color you need a base. I use black for junebug to make it a shade darker.

    I recommend curing the base coat before dipping your primary color. You can get the colors to bleed/mix if not cured.

    Are you using a fluid bed to dip in? If you are then that is the problem. Certain powder paints don't work well in a fluid bed. I think Junebug is pretty dark to be honest.

    Smalljaw is right about some powder paint not working in a fluid bed. The June-bug I use has glitter in it and glitter powder paint usually doesn’t work well in a fluid bed.
