Move batteries forward? - 89 Champ 184 SC

I'm redoing a new-to-us '89 184 SC with a Johnson 150, currently revamping all the wiring (needed it!). Wondering if anyone has experience with moving the 2 trolling batteries forward to mid-boat or front?

(Is it needed? Helpful for getting on plane? Good/bad handling?)

I've never had this boat (or any Champ) on the water before, so no personal experience to draw from. Plan to use boat for lake fishing with my 2 teen boys. Livewells are behind seats. 33 gal gas tank in rear comp. It would be relatively easy wiring to relocate the batteries, especially while all pulled apart.

    Thnx for any advice!

Leave them where they are you will be fine where they are. You'll mess up the setup up.

I have a 1999, 193 Elite and moved two 31 AGMs forward, one in each rod hatch...TERRIBLE IDEA...plowed like a John Deere. I replaced all AGMs with 31 size Lithium Pros and weight distribution is much better.
