Prolly way better folks than me to help but I do fish Lay a lot. If you just want to catch some spots look for current and rock. Shaky head will about always work. South end of the Lake has a lot rock. If you never been there before make sure you have good maps and stay in the marked channel or you will loose a foot. Lots of stumps and not just in shallow water. Steam plant discharge in Wilsonville will have some current if dams arent pulling water. I hope you catch a pile they can be fun!

Check out apcshorelines for generation schedule. Above the steam plant is your best bet for current. Also, this time of year, wind blown points for shad and schooling bass.

If you run up to logan martin dam stay on the right side and don't run on plane past the last island. The entire Coosa chain has been fishing tough this year so good luck!

It won't happen but the state needs to step in and do something about the entire Coosa chain.

This was brought in a conversation at the weigh-in at the Davis Baits tournament. So, others are thinking the same way.
