HPDI thermostat gaskets... to seal or not to seal?

I pulled off what I'm fairly certain were the original thermostats on my '07 VZ250. The paper gaskets did not want to come off but I scraped as much off as I could.

Does anyone apply any type of sealant around the thermostat gaskets? And poppet valve gasket while I'm at it?

    Thanks

When i replaced the thermostats on my ox 66 EFI 250, my t-stats did not stick to the gaskets. I ordered new gaskets just in case. I was able to install the new t-stats without any sealant and no leaks. I also pan tested the new t-stats in a old pan of boiling water on the stove. Just added insurance in making sure they open when hot and close when cold.

Yeah, I went with no sealant as well. Then I ran into another issue. About to post that...
