    Lithium Batteries

Has any switched to lithium batteries from lead acid batteries? If so are you glad you did or can’t tell? Thanks

Love my ionics. 3 50ah for trolling and 1 125 ionic for cranking and electronics. Gets out of the hole better. No difference in wide open.

Lithium is a good thing. Thank Roswell. I've got 2-50 AH ionics for dedicated TM circuit, a 1-125 AH ionic for dedicated electronics and pumps circuit, outboard has a dedicated lead acid (stator on 2.5 EFI).

The lithium's don't get charged on the water, and they don't have to. Always greater than 50% reserve after a full day. Outboard cranking battery comes back in at 100% charge every time.

They are clean, lightweight, and definitely improved holeshot.

J baker, what boat do you have? I initially had the same setup as jusmangrum, but I had issues with the 50's dying on electric only lakes. Sold the 50's and bought 3 125's for trolling motor. Zero issues now. Ionic lithiums, board sponsor, text them for a discount code it's def worth it. Think I saved like 600 bucks.

In the early spring I ordered 3 50ah Ionics from Drew. So far so good. All benefits and 0 complaints. I have yet to get the Ghost TM motor down past 78%. I'm looking into getting a 125AH or 100AH for graphs. Its nice to move batteries around without straining and lift them easily in and out of the boat.

If you would like to talk about lithium setups I would be happy to go over all the options in the Impulse lineup. We offer a bbc discount as well as have the best warranty in the business at a full 10 year non prorated warranty.

I have the 125ah ionic and the single 36v ionic in my TR196. Have never used more than 30% of the trolling battery in a single day with my 112lb Ultrex. Accidentally left a graph on overnight and the cranking battery was only at 59% the following morning, even after fishing the whole day prior. Not having to charge your batteries after every trip is really nice, as is being able to charge them in a fraction of the time. Top end speed didn't change but hole shot definitely seems better. All in all I'll never go back to lead acids.

I switched mine over. I have 3 lifePo4 100ah 12v batteries. I have used them in several tournaments and even 12hrs in a constant 25mph wind. I still didnt get the batteries below 80%.

As far as boat performance goes, my boat now has an excellent holeshot regardless of load (used to feel a big difference with a second person and both livewells filled), top end didn't really change. Power is no longer a concern at any point in my day.

I went back and forth with one 36v vs three 12v. I personally liked the saved space/weight of the single 36v. With the three 12s you can always swap in another battery if something happens to one of yours, with the 36 you're kinda stuck if the battery goes bad. I just told myself I'd take the risk of nothing happening to the 36v. Knock on wood I've had no issues with the single 36v.

Considering one for the starter on my rig with an opti. The 125ah is what I need to meet the opti requirements? Thx.

I have two Ionic 12v 125Ah Lithium batteries for my 24v Minn Kota Ulterra and they are AMAZING. Besides being able to run the batteries much harder, you can run them crazy long vs all the other battery types and they stay at Full Power for over 80% of the charge. Lithium are lighter. Lithium do not have to be disconnected and removed from the boat every Winter. They have Bluetooth so you can check the State of Charge if within range. They are EXPENSIVE.
Buy Once, Cry Once. Note: It has taken time till I could justify AND Afford the purchase!
I finally decided to replace my engine (Honda 200 hp) battery with a third 125Ah Ionic.

Email Andy Council at Drewcraft (andy@drewcraft.com) and he is speedy at getting back quickly and with great pricing.

    Be Well and Good Luck.
