    Load range C or D?

I need to replace my tires on my single axle Ranger 198P. Currently it has Carlisle load range C, 1860lb single axle rating tires on it from the factory. Does it make sense to go to a load range D tire at 2160? Wouldn’t it be better and safer to run a tire that has a bit more load capacity? Im not sure of what the total boat and trailer weighs but I’m estimating over 3,000lbs. I’m going to upgrade to the Goodyear Endurance. Thanks for the help, Allen

In my opinion on trailer tires it’s always worth the extra load capacity, definitely go D Goodyear Endurance have taken good care of all my trailer needs also.

D for sure. When I replaced the tires for the trailer on my RT188 I went to D’s. Seems to ride a bit better as well.

Not sure if the d rated have more diameter to them, in case of wheel rubbing fenders. Might check this before purchase.

Mine had Cs for years, had some blow outs and pops, not a ton but a few, so far with the D tires, no problems. There really is no downside, if you must you can let some air out for a better ride, but my tires were nearly maxed out with C tires, now at max pressure I have about a 25% load cushion that makes me feel better.

My RT188/115 is 2700 pounds ready to fish. I stopped at a scale and weighed it. Your 198/150 should be a little over 3000.

Just bolted up my new Goodyear Endurance D 215/75/14’s tonight. It’s nice not seeing that bulge in the sidewalls at the ground the C’s had even at maximum pressure. Thank you for the advice and suggestions, Allen

I noticed right away the ability to move my old single axle ranger by hand easier with the D's.
