    Skeeter under seat storage

I have a 1998 zx185. The under seat storage in the driver side is lined with carpet. After a rainy day, it gets totally soaked and is a hassle to dry out. I want to pull the carpet out but hoping to find out what it’s like underneath. Anybody else done this or have a recommendation for or against?

I had a 98 zx202c. Under the carpet is bare fiberglass.

Do you think rolling on a few layers of gel coat would leave it with a decent look?

It could be done but I think it would take a lot of effort to get a decent result. What about pulling the carpet and replacing it with some "amazon" seadek. Won't hold moisture and inexpensive.

You can get a gallon of white gel with wax on Amazon from Fiberglass supply, it was unser 50 bucks just before christmas. Brush it on or roll it out, don't spend 20 bucks on a gallon of acetone to clean a 99 cent chip brush, just toss it away.
