    Loose carpet

The carpet by my rod locker is loose so when I open it up the carpet on the edge lifts up with it. I figure I can just put some adhesive under the carpet where the adhesive failed. What do you guys use?

I've had luck with the 90 3M spray adhesive. Try to clean some of the old adhesive first clean with acetone and then a shot on each surface let it set up and it hasn't moved since.

3m or Weldwood will work. I have aluminum lids on mine and I recarpeted it using the Weldwood contact cement. Works very well. Clean under the carpet then put either glue on both sides and let it set up then attach.

Rubber cement/ contact cement. Apply to both sides, let tack up and get it down one time with no wrinkles as its not moving again. So practice dry before hand haha

Thanks for the replies. What do you use to get all the old adhesive off? Just scrape off what I can?

In a lot of cases you won’t need to remove it…applying new could reactivate the old.
