    Pro Max prop guys

I have asked a few years ago and I will try again. Does anyone run a 27 Pro Max on a 21"10" hull? Merc 250 XS with 1:62 gears.

    I've been told a 27 is the prop for a 21 with a 250 TM 1.75. I would think a 26 would be more suitable for a 1.62

The 26 is what I run now. I LOVE almost everything about The prop. Handling, midrange, are really good. The only Knock I can give it is top end. It gets to 75 like super quick. Then it hits a wall at 78. It does not have the top end I was expecting. I lost 3 mph on top.

I ran a 27 on my 2004 21XDC with a 2005 250XS with 1.62 sporty, great prop except for the hole shot took forever to spin up, but was a beast after that

I run a 28 Pro Max that has been worked to add cup for stern lift on my 21XD Comp with a 300xs. It planes out quick and I am loaded like bass pro shops. I won't use another prop period.

I miss mine except for the hole shot, it only had 4 holes in it though, probably needed 8

Performance Props in Soddy Daisy. Down the road from Paul's. I have added cup for stern lift to all my props since it was recommender by Jim at Huntsville Propeller Repair for my Bumble Bee 15 years ago. They can do a good job also.

I know this is a different setup but I wanted to add my experience anyways. I have a 20XRD and with a 225 ProXS with 1.62 sportmaster I ran a 26 ProMax with 8 holes and it was great. I went to a 250ProXS with the same lower and my 28 ProMax is not as good out of the hole as the old setup and I am convinced that it needs more holes. With both setups it slips on breakover to about 5k but with this 28 with 4 holes it's like it bogs at first and digs a hole to climb out of. I believe that when I add 4 more holes it won't really affect the clipping on breakover because the boat will have more momentum from the quicker initial spin up.

From the results of C Warrix I think the 27 maybe the way to go to gain a few mph back on top end. The 26 Pro Max is a great all around prop. I hope I can come across someone that has one that I can try before I make a almost 1000.00 decision. I hope I can make a rally or something where there maybe one to try.

I run a 27" Pro Max on my 21XDC / 300XS and it is the best all around prop I have ran. Not as fast as some of the others but jumps out of the hole loaded and handles like a dream. I have four other props and this is the one I currently run.
