I guess the popular HDS 10 gen 1 and 2 raised their interest to bring it back, plus others manufacturing 10 inch screen units

As a Marketing Major, I'll say the 10" is for equal comparison for the consumer. Could also be the availability of screens. Screen availability has been a major issue with all the electronics companies. From a historical perspective, this coming model year would typically be Lowrance's release of new products.
10" was always my favorite non-Touch screen size but I will say, I've gotten used to 12" Touch now.

I`m one of those old guys missing the 8 and 10, so for me the 10 alone is a good reason to upgrade. I spend a lot of time with split-screen 2D and map, and really miss the old-school 4:3.
The 10" might be promising, wait to see what the resolution is on the screen.
I bet they opted to offer a 10” vs a 7” because sales on the 7” have probably plummeted over the past few years. With the features of all these graphs a 7” just seems like it’s not that functional anymore. Every boat I see has 9 or 12” screens and that 10” can fit right in the middle nicely.

Before Elite FS was introduced, the 7 was the (by far) most sold HDS-size, hundreds of 7 sold for every 12, thousands of 7 sold for every 16. This might have changed after Elite FS though (it should, given the capabilities and price of Elite FS).
This might be a upgrade over my flasher but then I would have to learn all over again how to read it and that would take away from my fishing time.
More details leaked!

Could the "New Perspective" be 3D mapping? :-)
If they go new path as with simrad nsx- there's new map format will be add probably, At5 going to past.
I got an email today from Lowrance Australia saying to watch for a big announcement on 1 December. With a link to this:
Anything about the screen resolutions?
It's like iPhones - all Apple can really do now is increase the Processors by nanoseconds and the Photo & Screen quality by almost indecernible pixel amounts to try and get people to update their more recent (1-3 year old) models. Same with Graphs - in my opinion only of course - unless you're coming from the HDS's or earlier this won't be worth the $$ - but the Lowrance Pros will tell you differently i.e. "YOU GOTTA HAVE THE NEW GRAPHS" etc. ... but that's there job and you can't blame them.
Now the Active Target 2 on the other-hand .. as a relatively new product / technology there could be some very justifiable reasons to upgrade.

It almost seemed like it was active target but sidescan.. Either way if its faster than my HDS Carbon I might have to buy it.. but I do hope its not only in a 10" model. After having dual 12s I will never go back to smaller.
