Prop blowing out bad when loaded heavy?

Old 24 Raker original on an 18 foot stratos with 175 johnson carb motor & 8" plate. Does fine with me but 2 & a heavy load & it's awful. Runs good speed wise just no holeshot. I've epoxied exhaust holes shut & helps except under heavy load. I also have two more original 24 rakers that do the same thing & both run 1 mph slower than the first one. Will rake or cup help or what is needed? I tried a buddys 23 tempest plus & it done great but he won't sell it.

You need a flared barrel on those loads and the raker doesn't have one. Or an extra blade... I replied to your IM.

Get a 24P a new Trophy plus and a #200 Michigan Wheel hub kit.
The reason I say new is because a used prop is an unknown, it may look great but be way out of spec.

Odd pitch trophy props are better than even pitch models.

I've got two more24 raker originals. I think i'll see what Mark thinks he can do with one of them first before buying a new one.

Odd pitch trophy's and Bravo's and I think Promax, start off as an even numbered prop......say a 26" and they add a lot of cup to make it a 27", that's why. The blade geometry is the same between the 2, except for extra cupping.

That is how I understand it. On the Bravo FS they add cup to make a 24P act more like a 24.5 or 25 or 25.5. On the ProMax, my understanding is that they remove cup. So a 24.5, 25 or 25.5P ProMax were all 26P castings but with cup removed.

Mark says he can take care of it All 3 of my rakers lift the bow better & are faster than the tempest too. A 23 tempest plus is hard to find too.
