    Cranking reel

I throw the Shimano line the most. I've been waiting on tranx 200s to come in for awhile to put on my deep cranking rods. What's the next best alternative since I don't have a clue when these 200s will be back available.

The 5.5:1 Daiwa Tatula 150P is a very popular cranking reel in general and a very affordable option.

Give my boys at Thorne Bros a call. They have the best selection of Shimano reels I have ever seen. 763.572.3782 If anyone has the Tranx 200 reels, it will be them.

I picked up a Curado PGK 5.0/1 for deep cranks. I like the larger spool for line capacity and chunking bigger lures a long distance. The lower gear ratio combined with longer casts using a 7'8" rod helps get the bait down and keep it there without too much fatigue.

I also use this reel for deep cranks. Love it.
