Records are meant to be broken - Fastest Allison XB 21 Ever!

And with that I hand over the trophy to Mr. Tim Powell. Awesome running my friend and most deserving for someone who has done so much to advance the brand. Congratulations on 109mph in a Allison XB21. A darn 2 seater as well. Fastest Allison XB 21 Ever!!! Oh, and still going.

I'm hoping my Allison buckets, seat foam, and now XB21 2+2 consoles allow me to be back in the club. That is 10% Allison Right? LOL

I wonder if pulling the wind deflectors off would buy you one or two more? Seems they would catch a lot at that speed, just sink a little deeper in that seat

I will pull them at some point, just need to max out what I currently have before I start making changes so I can document it. Some claim they have seen as much as 2 mph, I know when my 300xs was stuck at 99.8 about 6-7 years ago now pulling the windshields made no difference for me.

I suspect at some point I will also pull some of the tackle out.

What is it like doing 109mph in a bass boat? I think I would completely freak out.

It’s really not that bad in the Allison XB-21. You have so much wind protection that you don’t have 109 mph winds in your face like other boats. Now I will say as a driver, things change from 80-90, again at 90-100, again at 100-105, and again at 105-110. Tunnel vision seems to set in around 107, I think its more of a mental game and what is “normal” to you. I now have about 8 passes in at 109, all several miles each.

It is looking like the soft limiter is catching me at 63xx rpm. I have now bumped up 2 pitch to see if I cant load up the engine and get it off the limiter. The bigger wheel definitely has more stern lift.

Can you get lower ratio gears for those new LU's ?
