I have a 5.0 in my 2018 with the 10 speed transmission and it pulls my 20 foot Gambler with a 250 with no problem. I live in the mountains of east Tennessee and pull in the hills great. The fuel mileage could be better but I get 15 mpg towing and 17 around town.I drove to Florida on vacation and got 21 on the interstate in the flat country with no boat.

I have had all three F150 engines since 2015. Had the 5.0 in my 2015 with the 6 speed, and 3.55 gears. Towed my boat, camper, and tractor fine. My 2018 F150 had the 2.7 Ecoboost with 10 speed, and 3.55 gears. Towed the same boat/camper/tractor better than my 2015 5.0. The Ecoboost torque is at a lower rpm range since it’s a boosted engine. So it did the same work at a lower rpm range. Plus the 10 speed helped a lot. My 2022 F-150 has the 3.5 Ecoboost, 10spd trans, and 3.55 with max tow package. It will tow circles around both the 5.0, and 2.7. Just towed my ZX225 through the mountains, and it never strained one second. My 2018 had 78k trouble free miles with oil changes every 5K with full synthetic. So far my 2022 has 14k trouble free miles with oil changes every 5K with full synthetic. With that said, my 2015 5.0 was also trouble free for 90k miles.

My 2022 with 3.5 Ecoboost, 10spd trans, 3.55 gears, max tow with extended range fuel tank. Get 20.5mpg daily, and 15mpg towing as long as I tow like I have sense. So far it’s been my favorite tow vehicle for all around power. Only thing I miss about the 5.0 is the sound, but the power makes me forget about that

Everybody must be driving 65 on the interstate to get 21! Best I have seen at 80 is 17. In both the EB and 5.0. Towing a bass boat or my empty flatbed is 12. Still very good IMHO because I came from a GM 6.0 that would get 7 towing and 13 on the e way. CJ

This was definitely one of my favorite trucks. The dealer had been trying to buy it back for a year. They offered me $200 more than I paid for the truck with 75k miles. They had the truck I wanted, so I had to let them have it back. Hope to get my 2022 leveled with wheels and tires after Christmas

I loved my 2012 3.5 Eco until the turbos started going out at 100k miles. It would tow circles around 2014 5.0, but I would rather have the 5.0 engine. My 5.0 has 224,000 miles with the only issues being a few leaking o-rings on the radiator hoses and a water pump . But the 5.0 is way easier to do service on. Mine is still averaging 16.0 mpg and runs great.
