I’m not a fan of the 21s. They have the best ride and run great but I’m not sold on some of the looks. *♂️

I would be interested to know also. Also, what motor are you running? I have been looking hard at a Blazer 625

Yes! I have tried this setup. I added 2” spacers to my factory 10” bobs plate on my 19’ 625 with my Merc 250, and lithiums. I did not see any major improvement on top end at all. Yes the boat has more Bow lift at WOT however that doesn’t typically help blazers. It only, in my opinion had negative results by reducing holeshot, handling etc.. now if you were really going to go big on a 625, a 12-14” plate, lithium’s, 300R with a sporty or flashed SHO , no poles, minimum electronics you can get one to really move.

DTS, curious, did you try different motor heights meaning higher? I'm just thinking because you gained more bow lift you should've been able to come up with the motor.

I tried different motor heights and ran 2 different props, a 27 tempest, and a 28 bravo 1 xs. Which are the two fastest props I know of so far. Maybe it gave .5 mph more? So not worth the downside.

Hey DTS, did you have any work done to your Bravo? I'm gonna send mine to Mark this winter and am curious if you had anything specific done to it.

The 625 hull is based off the old 210 hull. The 210 had 10-12ins of setback built into the hull. The biggest differences were the way the bow of the 625's bottom flared out to create tunnels for air to get under to lift the boat. The SHO is a better match to this hull due to its lower unit design but a Merc with a Sporty works well as well.

I would second that the SHO is faster by 1-2 mph stock and 4-6 mph faster if flashed as compared to the Merc 250 v8 with a TM2 lower unit. The 2 bravo 28 xs’s I’ve had one was brand new stock and the other had been balanced. The balanced prop ran 1 mph faster. But still the 27 tempest stock was just as fast as the worked bravo. I think a B&B and cup added 27 tempest would be the ultimate speed prop for the 625.

I found, by accident, the unicorn prop for the 625/SHO combo. It was duplicated on two other 625s with the same results. I had a 29 T-1 that I had used on my 202/300 Phase 2 HPDI combo for a fishing prop. When I got my 625, I sent it to Croxton to have it B&B and pitched down to a 28, and wow did it work. Awesome hole shot and 84 mph loaded to fish with 2 people.
It was strange that the other two rigs also ran 84 with the same load.

Wonder how a 27 T1 would run on a Merc?
