Bought a couple packs of gander mountain tubes. They used to work great. Now I just make my own crayfish pattern. Best color is a natural color.

All the Gander Mountain plastics were made by Big Bite, as far as I know. Learned that when I lost my favorite fluke after Gander's went away, only to find out (a couple years later, unfortunately) that it was the same as the Big Bite Jerk Minnow. Then I was able to match up lots of other Gander bites with their Big Bite twins. That said, the Big Bite 2.5" tube is decidedly thinner walled than what I personally like when fishing those 2.5-2.75" tubes for smallmouth. It's one I'd throw on a Texas rig, but lacks the "double-dipped" profile I want for throwing them on a tube jig. It reminds me a lot of the Cabin Creek tubes I Texas rigged a lot when I lived in WV. Possibly it's different than the one Gander had? Or maybe you like the thinner-walled design?

The ones I had are a little thicker. As I fished them with tube weight. If I was to fish them again I would just buy the molds. Thin or thicker I’m sure they work just as good.

These folks make a nice double dip. I like "Bama Craw", green pumpkin with some orange in the tentacles. Used to fish them in the winter on Table Rock and Beaver, they catch spots, smallies and largemouth. Ever since I started fishing Ned rigs in the winter, I pretty much stopped my tube dragging.

It's like the color of a black concert t-shirt that you've washed too many times so like faded black.

I've used many brands over the years. The Strike King Coffee Tubes 3.5" have been as good as any. At the end of the day however, the fish really don't care what brand it is. Just make sure your line is good, the hook is sharp, and put the bait in front of them. That's the tube that will catch the most fish.

I would not reccomend the dry creek tubes, they are too slender. Especially for smallmouth you want a decently large diameter on the tube, especially 2.5 inch. Get bit is a good suggestion.
