good or bad for boat insurance?

i have been with american modern for 5 years. zero claims. i pay almost $1100 yearly for an agreed value of 50k for a 2018 zx250. time to renew and was quoted $605 from progressive for exact same policy but i want to hear from others about their experiences with progressive.

    TIA

Mine was a bad experience, after a U-Haul hit me on the Interstate coming home from fishing.

That's who I have. Never had to make a claim so not sure how good they are.

I had to use mine once. Had no problems. Around $3000 in damage.

Had them years ago. Made one claim and they dropped me. Said my boat was too old. They did however, pay the claim and fix my boat.

The best boat insurance I have had. Fast, painless, fair and good customer service. Never an issue in 15 years and 3-4 claims.

Like any other insurance it depends on if you have your boat covered properly. An insurance policy is a contract and will not do anymore than what is in the contract.

Hit a stump and they totaled my boat and didn't pay a dime. Said my transom cracked due to a previous bad repair. Wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

Have had Progressive for a number of years and only had one claim. Totaled my five-year-old Ranger and they paid me what I paid for the boat new a little over $73,000 with no problems still have them on my new boat.

Got progressive in 2014. Had a claim for a lower unit in 2016. Paid the claim quick with no problems. Now I get emails saying I have no deductible on my next claim. It has been a great experience.

Maybe I am the only member who has been treated well by my insurance company (Progressive). Have had multiple large claims in last 10 years ($2.2K in 2012, $2.1K in 2015, and $5.8K in 2021) and my annual premium has gone up less than $75 since 2011.

Exact same story for me. I was very impressed with the speed of service.
