Our member/member two day tournament.
27 holes and then 18 holes.
Another member emails the group looking for a partner.
I immediately respond yes.
He is a stellar individual who loves golf, is always positive and takes golf seriously as it better be by the rules.
He is older than me, has a physical impairment that is a challenge, and has defeated cancer but it cost him his bladder.
He played in the heat, stayed focused and did his best. The whole time he never complained.
After trying seriously on Saturday then we relaxed and had a few bloody Mary’s, played some music on my speaker and had a great time. Middle of the pack finish but a great two days with a great gentlemen. That is what golf in the later years is all about. Try hard, have fun and enjoy the effort with your partners and competitors.
We tee it up tomorrow for fun-again!
