    Going to Break 80 today!

85 last time with a couple of doubles and just barely off my game. Didn’t miss a fairway until 18. 81 the round before.
I am going to really try and break 80 today. Heat may not help.

Good luck! We're playing tomorrow. Going to be a hot one. 95 degrees for a high.

Fairways and greens are the trick. Aim for the middle of the greens, keep the tee ball in play, and don't try the hero shot. That's how to break 80.

Birdied the first hole, a par 5. 7 more pars and a double bogey on 9 for a 37.
3 more pars, then 3 bogeys, a par, a bogey and a par from the sand on 18.
I won’t bore you with the details, but I had 5 one putts on the front 9 and 13 total putts.
I made some long putts when I had to for pars and missed my only two other real shots at birdies.
I really concentrated on straight iron shots with better setup and it worked.
77 is my best round in 3 or so years with 13 months off during two hip surgeries etc.
Today is one of those days where I love golf! And man it was hot hot hot on the back side!

I'm hoping to break 85 next time I play, if I can quit having a blow up hole I can get there. Was 3 over the other day thru 9, then blew up the back to shoot 86.

Try not to pay attention to your score or add up the totals until your round is over. It may help you avoid those mental lapses on 9 and 18.
